Eldridge & Memorial

This is the intersection where I grew up under a foot of water, not from Hurricane Harvey itself but from the water released from the nearby reservoir by the Corps of Engineers. These are my parents on their way to our house, which they hadn't seen in almost a week. We lost the piano, cookbooks, family photos, cars, furniture, and (probably) the Nintendo 64. But the important stuff made it through. My parents most of all.
